What You Will Benefit From Using An Electric Toothbrush

Make the switch to an electric toothbrush and you will enjoy the latest and greatest teeth-cleaning technology. Electric toothbrush heads remove more plaque along the gum lines than conventional toothbrushes. These amazing pieces of technology are loaded with all sorts of helpful features that facilitate the brushing process.

BENEFITS OF ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSHES

ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSH PRESSURE SENSORS

Electric toothbrushes have pressure sensors that help preserve the integrity of the gums. This sensor stops the user from brushing with excessive force. The sensor will prolong the lifespan of your brush heads and keep your enamel intact.

SET THE TIMER AND START BRUSHING

Electric toothbrushes have advanced to the point that they now feature a timer. You can set the electric toothbrush for two minutes, brush your teeth until it chimes. The chime will be the notice you need to know you do not need to brush anymore.

A COMPREHENSIVE CLEAN

The bristles move in small circular motions on your behalf. You simply guide the toothbrush along with your teeth and let it do the work for you. The circular motions provide a full clean for your teeth and even the areas where the gums and teeth meet. The bristles rotate, oscillate and pulsate to knock away all of that pesky plaque.

It is imperative that you eliminate as much plaque as possible as it has the potential to cause gingivitis and tooth decay. Gingivitis is the initial stage of gum disease. If your tooth decay is not properly treated, you will likely endure tooth loss at some point in the future.

ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSHES REMOVE MORE BACTERIA THAN MANUAL TOOTHBRUSHES

A study published in the Cochrane Library pertaining to 51 controlled trials with adults and children brushing with manual and electric toothbrushes shows the electric variety is superior. These individuals brushed their teeth across a period of four weeks. Those who used the electric toothbrush had quite the meaningful edge over those who used the manual variety.

All in all, those who used the electric toothbrush enjoyed an 11 percent decrease in plaque between the first month and the third month. These individuals also enjoyed a 21 percent decrease in plaque when assessed following the three-month mark. In terms of gingivitis, those who used an electric toothbrush enjoyed a six percent risk reduction between the first month and the third month.

These individuals enjoyed an 11 percent risk reduction following three full months of use. It is clear electric toothbrushes do a better job of cleaning the teeth than the manual variety. Add in the fact that the electric variety does nearly all of the work and it is easy to see why this high-tech toothbrush has exploded in popularity.

ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSHES ARE IDEAL FOR THOSE WITH ARM/HAND MOBILITY LIMITATIONS

If you find it difficult to move your arms, wrists or hands to brush your teeth with a manual toothbrush, it is time to switch to an electric one. Use an electric toothbrush and you will simply guide the brush over your teeth while it does all the scrubbing for you.
